Manufactured in 1942. Fitted with fixed sights, the left side of the slide marked with the Walther banner, two-line address/patent/caliber markings and "Mod PP", and "eagle/N" proofs on the muzzle, chamber hood, and slide. Additionally, "R.J." is stamped on the front grip strap. Still shrouded in mystery, the "R.J." marking has been found on a number of Walther pistols and has been attributed to the Reichs Ministry of Justice and the Interior Ministry. Fitted with black "WALTHER" banner grips and a flat base magazine.
Very good, with minor spotting, edge wear, a small amount of shallow pitting concentrated on the leading edges, and light handling marks. The slide is a mixed numbered replacement. Grips are good, with some shrinkage and minor dings. The hold-open needs adjustment and the trigger periodically fails to fully reset in double action operation, otherwise mechanically good.
