Description:This is a rare example of a Swedish Model 1867 Rolling Block centerfire conversion of a Model 1864 Hagstrom needlefire conversion breechloading rifle, originally converted from a Model 1860 Wrede muzzleloading rifled musket. The receiver has the early type locking screws on the left and is dated "1869" on the right, with the same date also stamped in the forend and buttstock. Matching serial number "810" visible on the barrel, receiver, forend and buttstock. Includes a period brown leather sling marked "D A Co" above "7/85" and "0189", and a copy of the book "The All New Collector's Guide to Remington Rolling Block Military Rifles of the World" by George Layman in which a similar example, a Model 1860/64/68 conversion rolling block, is photographed on page 123.
Rating Definition:Fine overall with some of the arsenal refreshed finish, a few scattered patches of light oxidation, and a patch of filler along with numerous minor handling marks in the arsenal refurbished wood. Mechanically excellent.
