Manufactured in 1870 and subsequently professionally custom engraved in the style of L.D. Nimschke with 75% coverage floral scroll engraving, with a patriotic eagle motif on the left of the receiver and a blank oval on the right. The initials "L.D.N." are marked on the lower tang just in front of the serial number and in a banner on the bottom of the receiver. The matching partial serial number "8729" is marked in the stock inlet and inside the buttplate.
