The included factory letter lists the carbine in .38 caliber with desirable 18 inch barrel and screw eyes when received at the warehouse on 3 October 1905 and shipped on 5 October 1905. The Buffalo Bill Historical Center letter states that of all the Model 1892s with barrels shorter than 20 inches that were surveyed, this example was the only one with an 18 inch barrel found.
