Description:The included factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, and March 31, 1891 date of shipment to the U.S. Government Inspector at the Colt plant, as 1 of 200 revolvers. The letter further states the revolver was returned to the factory for refurbishment, and then reshipped to the Commanding Officer at the Springfield Armory on April 1, 1903. The barrel, frame, cylinder, and right side of the grip have "R.A.C." (Rinaldo A. Carr) inspection marks. With "US" embossed leather flap holster.
