An embossed "W1825" label is on the buttstock. This carbine was most likely thoroughly evaluated by Winchester. Marlin was Winchester's main competitor. With Certificate of Provenance stating it was previously a part of the Winchester Factory Collection where it was maintained by U.S. Repeating Arms.
NB - EXCELLENT- near new condition 95% - 98%, used but little, no noticeable marring of wood or metal, bluing near perfect (some wear at muzzle or sharp edges can be expected).
