Originally manufactured in 1863 and then converted using the breech loading system designed by American Edward Lindner and used during the Franco-Prussian War.

Dated to 1870. Includes a document indicating the rifle was purchased through Bannermans for use by the home guard unit in Verdigre, Nebraska, during WWI.
