Description:Manufactured from 1905 to 1942. Single bead sight on the matte solid concave rib, 2 3/4" chambers, choked extra full/improved modified with extractor. The breech end top of the barrels are marked "CHROMOX FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL" and "MADE BY A.H.FOX GUN CO PHILA. PA U.S.A.". Scroll engraved frame, with "ANSLEY H. FOX" in a banner on each side. Mounted with a checkered splinter forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with a serrated hard rubber buttplate. LOP is 14 7/8".
Condition:Very good. The barrels retain 80% thinning blue finish with smooth plum patina in areas. The trigger guard has a smooth gray patina and the action has a smooth silver gray patina with strong traces of original case colors in the protected area around the fences. The wood is very good with almost all of the original varnish remaining, overall some scattered minor dents, dings and scratches, with crisp checkering. The markings and engraving are clear and crisp. Mechanically fine.
